Fulbright Visiting Scholar Conference 2003

World-renowned economist Jeffrey D. Sachs delivered the keynote address at the 2003 Fulbright Visiting Scholar Conference. With a theme of "International Cooperation in a Borderless World: Exploring the U.S. Role in Global Health Governance" the conference took place on April 2-5 at the Wyndham City Center Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Some 130 foreign Fulbright academics and professionals from approximately 70 countries gathered to explore America's role in global health. The Fulbright Scholar Program and this conference are sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. The conference was built on the experiences gained by the Fulbright New Century Scholars (NCS) 2001-2002 program and chaired by the NCS Distinguished Scholar Leader, Professor Ilona Kickbusch of Yale University.
