Middle East and North African Universities Welcome American Educators

Opportunities are available to American professors in all disciplines to teach, conduct research and help develop programs for universities in the Middle East and North Africa during the 2009-10 academic year.  Fulbrighters have found a welcoming atmosphere in public and private institutions in all countries, many of which are establishing new English-medium institutions, courses and programs on the American model of higher education. Fulbright Scholar awards lead to a depth of mutual understanding that is particularly important in our current relations with countries in the Middle East.  Be a part of the solution.

If you are considering an application for a country in the region, CIES can put you in communication with colleagues abroad or former Fulbrighters who have taught and carried out research in a variety of fields over the past years so that you can learn more about living and working conditions in a particular country. You may find it helpful to discuss schooling for children, availability of resources for research and teaching at universities, quality of university-provided housing, social and cultural activities for Fulbrighters and families, and relations with faculty colleagues and students. Contact Gary Garrison at CIES (ggarrison@cies.iie.org) for names and addresses.

Review awards available in different countries of the Middle East and North Africa.
