Research Awards in Brazil

Brazil has joined the growing list of countries offering fulltime research awards. In addition to teaching, or combined teaching and research, scholars in any field may now pursue their research objectives fulltime, in affiliation with any university in Brazil. This vast and beautiful country is reaping the benefits of a booming economy, a stable political system, and innovative social policies. Brazil is a laboratory for scholars in multiple fields -- agriculture, biofuels, business, environmental sciences, public health, industrial technology, engineering, all social sciences and the arts and humanities. World class universities and research institutes, combined with a warm and welcoming culture, ensure that scholars will have productive experiences.

Awards are three to four months in length. While English is sufficient for projects in the sciences and lecturing at the graduate level, a working knowledge of Portuguese or Spanish is desired. Twelve or more awards will be granted.  Read more about the available awards. www.cies.org/award_book/award2009/country/WesBraBR.htm

Visit this dynamic country, enrich your professional and personal connections and experience the uniquely Brazilian state of  “saudade!”
