New award in teacher education and curriculum development in Bahrain

The Bahrain Education Development Board will host American educators specialized in teacher training and curriculum in all subjects for grades K-12 at a newly established teacher training college.  Awards will be for one or two semesters during the 2008-09 or 2009-10 academic years.    Bahrain is making strides in improving the quality and access to education at all levels for its citizens.  New national and international schools are being built, and standards for teacher preparation and evaluation are being established.

Fulbright scholars will receive free furnished housing, a stipend and maintenance allowance, round-trip travel and an educational allowance for children. Contact Gary Garrison for application information, ggarrison@cies.iie.org, 202-686-4019.
