Ukraine #3630
Primary Field of Expertise: Public/Global Health
Hosting Institution: Bogomolets National Medical University
Program Description: The Specialist will have the opportunity to develop curriculum and teach at least 9 one-day trainings (approx. 20 persons each) on clinical breast examination (CBE) for residents of national medical universities and medical personnel who are responsible for providing such services to women: OB/GYNs working at maternity centers, regional midwifes, and family doctors. Correct techniques, procedures, and skills will be emphasized, and the Specialist can add additional information as appropriate, such as on patient communication, monitoring, etc. Trainings will take place at universities in Kyiv (3 trainings) at Bogomolets National Medical University; Lviv (3 trainings) at Danylo Galytsky Lviv National Medical University; and Odesa (3 trainings) at Odesa State Medical University. In addition, he or she will advise the heads of the medical universities regarding long-term curriculum change and skills-building for their students and doctors on CBE.

Program Description: Enabling Environment in Support of Freedom of Expression: Media Law and Regulatory Frameworks Review Media law specialist required. Under the direction of the UNESCO Bujumbura Office, the specialist shall: 1. Review existing constitutional provisions, bills, laws and other regulatory frameworks concerning freedom of expression and access to information; 2. Participate in debates or seminars or workshops to be organized in collaboration with local partners to discuss improvement of the constitutional provisions, bills, laws and regulatory frameworks; 3. Prepare a set of recommendations to be submitted to the Government through the Ministry concerned for amendment of the constitutional provisions, bills, laws and regulatory frameworks with a view to enhancing and ensuring freedom of expression and access to information.
The Objectives of the Review are to examine and assess the media laws and existing regulatory frameworks for their contribution to the people’s freedom of expression and access to information; to encourage public debate on certain provisions of the laws and the regulatory frameworks considered to hinder freedom of expression and access to information; and to submit recommendations for revision of the laws and the regulatory frameworks to ensure freedom of expression and access to information.

Program Description: The overall object of the project is to contribute to the cooperation in the field of higher education between the USA and Russia by participation of leading U.S. scholars and professionals in Fulbright academic exchanges and by establishing a University network for the dissemination of strategic knowledge and for the development of life-long learning. The project will also contribute to educational process development by means of students’ possibility to gain first-hand knowledge on latest developments in the USA higher education. The specialist would be focusing on several tasks: 1.Develop and assess academic curricular and educational materials in Economics. 2. Present lectures for the branch’s students and postgraduate students studying Economics. It may be a short-term course in Economic Theory or Development Economics and International Development. 3. Lead seminars or workshops in Business/Managerial Economics are expected for these courses students. 4. Conduct teacher-training programs at the degree granting level. degree granting level English teachers from our city higher education establishments who work with students studying Economics will participate in the program. 5. Consult with administrators on the branch development in the frame work of modernization of higher education system. 6. Take part in yearly essay competition in English for our students as a jury member.

Program Description: Program Description:
The specialist would help develop a curriculum of American Studies for students studying both American Area Studies and Interpretation and Translation. Specialist’s knowledge of United States Government and Politics would be also preferably, but not obligatory. The Specialist is also expected to lead seminars for our academic staff within the framework of requested discipline and specialization to provide professional development. The main goals of the project will be as follows: 1. to organize seminars, conferences, round tables related to the topic American Studies; 2. to model natural language environment; 3. to provide an effective, clear, well-designed digital product that will help to exchange the results of students researches and experiences; 4. to outline a new textbook that compares and contrasts American and Russian culture, and to promote mutual understanding and tolerance among our countries.

Program Description: The Fulbright Specialist will collaborate in particular with the Department called CNRS LISA 6240 specializing in Environmental Economics and Renewable Resources; he/she will present lectures at postgraduate levels. For Master 2 IDT students in the Engineering of Territorial Development program: "Sustainable and Marine Development Management" and for PhD Students: "Geospatial Information in the Analysis of Land-Cover" and "Economic Incentives for Sustainable Coastal and Marine Development". The objective is to improve faculty's and students’ skills integrating tools for geospatial information’s treatment and Land-Cover Change analysis in coastal and marine regions. It also aims at establishing durable links with an American scholar and a university that work in the same field.
