Research: Developing Cyberspace Crime Lead Searching and Evidence Discovering Techniques

Fulbright Visiting Scholar Jau-Hwang Wang conducted research at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (AI Lab) in the Department of Management Information Systems, University of Arizona. Aside from his research efforts in computer forensics, Wang collaborated with Hsinchun Chen and AI Lab members on a research project to develop analysis and investigation techniques regarding "gray web forums" in Taiwan and hopes to co-hold an international conference on intelligence and security informatics with his host professor in 2008.

Through the Fulbright Occasional Lecturer Program, Wang toured the National Center for Forensic Science (NCFS), met NCFS Director Carrie Whitcomb along with several other computer forensic researchers at the institution, and gave a lecture on "Cyber Crimes In Taiwan: Issues and Approaches." During his OLP visit, Wang was also afforded the opportunity to visit Florida's Orange County Sheriff Office and the University of Central Florida (UCF) where he met with County Sheriff Kevin Beary, UCF Computer Forensics Certificate Program Coordinator Sheau-Dong Lang and UCF students.
