How to Apply
Applying to Become a Scholar-in-Residence
Unlike the Fulbright Visiting Scholar Program, there is no formal process for applying to participate in the SIR Program. If you are interested in becoming a Scholar-in-Residence, you can submit your curriculum vitae along with a Statement of Interest, to the Fulbright Commissions or U.S. Embassy abroad in your home country.
You can also express your interest by contacting administrators and faculty at Historically Black Colleges, Hispanic-serving institutions, community colleges and small, liberal-arts colleges. Contacting Fulbright Visiting Scholars can also help bring perspective on the lecturing environments and needs of institutions targeted for SIR participation. SIR program staff can also offer information.
Thank you for your interest in the Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence Program.
