Grant Activity: Conduct postdoctoral research in one of the research departments of Cardiff University. Grant activity may involve a small amount of teaching.
Specialization(s): Applications are welcome from scholars in any field offered at Cardiff University, including: architecture, biosciences, business (including economics), chemistry, city and regional planning, computer sciences, earth sciences, engineering, English, communication and philosophy, European studies (includes politics), history and archaeology, journalism, media and cultural studies, law, mathematics, music, optometry and vision sciences, pharmacy, physics and astronomy, psychology, religious and theological studies, social sciences (includes education) and Welsh.
Additional Qualifications: Must have a doctoral degree by the start of the proposed grant period.
Location: Cardiff University
Length of Grant: 4 months to 12 months
Starting Date: Between September 2010 and April 2011
Comments: Applicants are required to identify with whom they wish to work and to include relevant correspondence with their application. Faculty accommodation is sometimes available and candidates should enquire well in advance of arrival in Wales. The award is intended as a contribution towards travel and general expenses incurred during the recipient's time in the UK, including any required work permit fees. Candidates usually arrange to receive sabbatical pay while away to meet any additional expenses.
