Grantees receive a monthly stipend calculated in U.S. dollars and payable in dollars or local currency. Unless otherwise stipulated, the amount varies according to the following formula for different grant categories.

 

->

Lecturing - $2,860 per month for faculty at the associate or full professor rank or the professional equivalent; $2,640 per month for faculty at or below the assistant professor rank or the professional equivalent.
   
-> Lecturing/Research - $2,860 per month for faculty at the associate or full professor rank or the professional equivalent; $2,640 per month for faculty at or below the assistant professor rank or the professional equivalent. (This applies only if the grantee teaches the equivalent of at least one full course.)
   
-> Research and Junior Research - $1,870 per month for all faculty ranks and professional equivalents.
   
-> Junior Lecturing - $2,640 per month for appointments specifically designated as Fulbright junior lectureships.
   
-> Distinguished Lecturing - $3,850 per month for all appointments specifically designated as Fulbright distinguished lecturing awards.

(Note: Stipends for the Fulbright Distinguished Chairs Program differ from those described above.)
