Awards and Benefits
Summary:  Up to four lecturing or lecturing/research awards.
Program Overview:  An award to Costa Rica offers a variety of benefits, including a convenient location, well-respected institutions of higher learning, a pleasant climate and great natural beauty, and a strong Fulbright tradition. The academic calendar varies greatly among universities and it is advisable to confirm which academic calendar your institution and program of interest follows. In some cases, requested grant lengths may need to be adjusted at the discretion of the Fulbright Program.

Benefits
Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $1,600-$2,200, based on the number of accompanying dependents.
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $2,350-$5,050, based on the number of accompanying dependents.
Tuition Assistance: n.a.
Other Benefits:  Allowance of $1,000 for books and educational materials to be donated to the host institution or other entity upon grantee's departure.
