Awards and Benefits
Summary:  One award is offered for lecturing/research or lecturing. Candidates with Ph.D.s or M.A.s are welcome to apply. The Fulbright Program in Tajikistan prefers those with minimum three years of university/college teaching experience. Professionals/non-academics will be considered if they have the requisite three years of university/college teaching experience.
Program Overview:  Tajikistan is pleased to welcome its first U.S. Fulbright Scholar in 2009-2010. The grantee will teach during the academic year (September 2009 - May 2010) in a state-run university. University classes are generally held Monday through Saturday. Tajikistan is a developing nation where half of the population is under 25. The Fulbright Scholar will likely be the first American that many Tajik students have ever met and will have a tremendous opportunity to expand cultural understanding.

Benefits
Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula..
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. 2009-10 is the first year for the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program in Tajikistan to operate.
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation.
Tuition Assistance: Tuition Assistance.
Other Benefits:  A maximum book allowance of $1,500.
