Awards and Benefits
Summary:  Up to 10 research awards for higher education faculty or practicing professionals. See also research opportunities under the South and Central Asia Regional Research Program.
Program Overview:  Academic year runs from approximately September 2009 to June 2010. English is the language of instruction for all awards. Prior experience in South Asia or knowledge of a South Asian language is not required. Awards will be given for only the greater Islamabad area, and scholars are expected to follow all U.S. government-mandated security regulations. Limited travel outside of Islamabad will be permitted as allowed by the U.S. Embassy's regional security officer. Accompanying dependents are not allowed. Grantees will live in housing maintained by the Fulbright office in Islamabad, and transportation will be provided by the office.

Benefits
Stipend: n.a.
Maintenance: Monthly maintenance allowance of $2,800. Grantees will live in housing maintained by the Fulbright Foundation in Pakistan for a cost of $700/month.
Travel/Relocation: International travel for grantee, plus air freight allowance of up to 250 pounds for return of data collected and related to grant project.
Tuition Assistance: n.a.
Other Benefits:  Allowance of $750-$1,000 for incidental expenses related to the project. Local transportation provided.
