Awards and Benefits
Summary:  Up to three awards for lecturing/research or research in all disciplines. See also research opportunities under the Middle East and North Africa Regional Research Program.
Program Overview:  Academic year is 10 months, September 2009 to mid-June 2010. Affiliation is limited to Al-Quds University, Al-Quds Open University in Ramallah, Bethlehem University and Birzeit University. Travel and residency restrictions apply to American scholars. The Regional Security Office (RSO) of the U.S. Consulate in Jerusalem has developed mandatory rules that will apply for all U.S. Fulbright grantees wanting to research and study in the West Bank. Those U.S. Scholars who fully understand and agree to the restrictions and are interested in studying in the West Bank are encouraged to apply. Any scholar selected for funding will be required to agree in writing to abide by the current West Bank travel and residency restrictions. Benefits
Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. In previous years the following was provided: $2,700-$3,500 per month, based on the number of accompanying dependents.
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. In previous years the following was provided: $3,350-$6,440, based on the number of accompanying dependents.
Tuition Assistance: n.a.
Other Benefits:  Ground transportation reimbursed up to $1,400 per month upon presentation of receipts.
