Awards and Benefits
Summary:  Up to 14 awards, including lecturing, research or combined lecturing/research in any discipline and one distinguished lecturing/research award. See also research opportunities under the Middle East and North Africa Regional Research Program.
Program Overview:  Applications will be considered from qualified candidates who hold a Ph.D. or its equivalent and have a minimum of 2 years of research or teaching experience at the time of application. Academic year is two semesters: September 2009 through mid-January 2010 and mid-January through May 2010. Visit www.frcu.eun.eg for general information about higher education in Egypt. Benefits
Stipend: Monthly base stipend of $2,500 per month for faculty at the associate or full professor rank or the professional equivalent, and $2,350 per month for faculty at or below the assistant professor rank or the professional equivalent, and $3,500 per month for all appointments specifically designated as Fulbright distinguished lecturing, research or lecturing/research awards.
Maintenance: Monthly maintenance of Egyptian Pounds (L.E.) 3,000 to Egyptian Pounds (L.E.) 4,200 per month, based on the number of accompanying dependents. Housing is provided by the Binational Fulbright Commission in Egypt at no cost to the grantee.
Travel/Relocation: International travel for grantee only for grants less than 4 months, plus excess baggage allowance of $400. Travel for grantee and up to two accompanying dependents (those who spend at least 80% of the grant period with the grantee abroad) for grants of 4 months or more, plus excess baggage allowance of $650 and $250 for dependents.
Tuition Assistance: Up to $5,000 per child or $10,000 per family for accompanying dependent children in grades K-12 is reimbursed for a full academic year. Amount is prorated for shorter grant periods. Reimbursement based on actual cost of tuition and fees only.
Other Benefits:  Professional allowance of Egyptian Pounds (L.E.) 4,700.
