Program Overview:
Academic terms are September 2009 through January 2010 and mid-February 2010 through June 2010. Full academic-year awards are preferred, but one-semester awards will be considered. Obtain names and addresses of host institution representatives from CIES. Stipend: $1,870-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. For 2007-08 the following was provided: $1,400-$1,800 monthly subsistence allowance, based on the number of accompanying dependents. Free housing is provided by the host institution, or a housing allowance of $1,200-$1,600 per month is added to the grant as per 2007-08 costs.
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-08 the following was provided: $4,000-5,170, based on the number of accompanying dependents.
Tuition Assistance: Up to $5,000 per child or $10,000 per family for accompanying dependent children in grades K-12 is reimbursed for a full academic year. Amount is adjusted for shorter grant periods. Reimbursement is based on actual cost of tuition and fees only.
Other Benefits:
One-time allowance of $2,000 for research grants is provided.
