Summary:
Up to five awards for lecturing or combined lecturing/research.

Program Overview:
Academic year is September through mid-June with semesters running from early September through December and January through mid-June. Awards are intended for the full academic year; applications for one semester will be considered. A letter of invitation is welcome, but not necessary. The Embassy will arrange affiliations. Dependent schooling in English is available in Chisinau only for K-8. Preference is given to applicants with a terminal degree in their field and at least 3 years of teaching experience. Professionals will be considered. Some knowledge of Romanian or Russian is useful. Interpreters can be provided as necessary. Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
|
|
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $500-$1,150 per month, based on the number of accompanying dependents and the city of placement. Housing allowance is not included if host institution provides housing.

|
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $4,500-$11,500, based on the number of accompanying dependents.

Other Benefits:
Book allowance of $1,500 for one- or two-semester grants for lecturing or combined lecturing/research.
