Awards and Benefits
Summary:  Up to four lecturing and lecturing/research awards.
Program Overview:  The academic year consists of two semesters: October through January and February through May. Applicants with a Ph.D. are preferred, but applicants with an M.A. or other professional degree and at least 5 years of established experience in their fields will be considered, i.e., working journalists, practicing attorneys and information technology professionals. English is sufficient for lecturing; research awards require language commensurate with the requirements of the proposed research project. Grantees are encouraged to guest lecture at other universities within Macedonia and are regularly invited to give presentations at the country's American Corners. Benefits
Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. For 2007-08 the following was provided: $875-$1,150 per month, based on the number of accompanying dependents.
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-08 the following was provided: $3,900-$9,400, based on the number of accompanying dependents.
Tuition Assistance: Tuition Assistance.
Other Benefits:  Book allowance of $1,500.
