Awards and Benefits
Summary:  Up to five lecturing awards.
Program Overview:  Academic year is from the beginning of September 2009 to mid-June 2010. The second semester begins in February 2010. Lectures are in English. Scholars are encouraged to consider placements at institutions outside of Riga. An international English language school (pre-K-12) is located in Riga, www.isriga.lv. An International Language School (grades 1-12) is located in Jurmala, approximately a 30-minute drive from the center of Riga. More information can be found at www.isl.edu.lv. Applicants are encouraged to contact potential host institutions to arrange their own affiliations. If necessary, the Embassy can help to arrange host institution affiliation. Benefits
Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. For 2007-08 the following was provided: $750-$1,400 per month, based on the number of accompanying dependents and the city of placement.
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-08 the following was provided: $3,700-$8,700, based on the number of accompanying dependents.
Tuition Assistance: Tuition Assistance.
Other Benefits:  Book allowance of $1,500.
