Awards and Benefits
Summary:  Approximately 14 lecturing awards and two research awards from among the openings listed below.
Program Overview:  Academic year is from October 2009 through May or June 2010. The length of the fall semester for lecturers is 3-4 months. Second semester begins in February and is usually 4 months. Applications are welcome in all disciplines, although preference may be given to subjects related to the U.S. and to applicants who will assist with curriculum and program development at their host institutions. Affiliations are possible with a variety of academic institutions, but opportunities also exist for collaboration with public officials and professionals at other institutions. Double affiliations may be requested. Applicants are encouraged to view the Commission's Web site at www.fulbright.cz for current information about programs and practicalities of living in the Czech Republic, including English language schools for dependents.

Benefits
Stipend: n.a.
Maintenance: $2,000 per month for researchers; $2,700 per month for lecturers at the rank of assistant professor or below; $2,900 per month for lecturers at the rank of associate or full professor. Dependent allowance of $200 per month for one dependent and $350 per month for two or more dependents. (Dependent allowances are paid only for those dependents who accompany the grantee for at least 80% of the grant period.) Reimbursement for housing costs up to 12,000 crowns per month for grantees with no dependents, 14,000 crowns for grantees with one dependent and 16,000 crowns for grantees with two or more dependents. (The 12/07 exchange rate was approximately US$1=17.86 CZK.)
Travel/Relocation: Reimbursement up to $2,000 for grantee. Dependent travel allowance of $500 per dependent. (Dependents must remain in country for 80% of the grant period.)
Tuition Assistance: n.a.
Other Benefits:  One-time research allowance of $750 for research grants of up to 4 months and $1,500 for research grants of 5 months or more. Book allowance of $1,500 for one or two-semester grants for lecturing provided by the Commission on a reimbursable basis.
