Awards and Benefits
Summary:  Three to five awards for lecturing or lecturing/research. Length of grant is usually from 4-9 months, but grant length can be extended upon request.
Program Overview:  Universities in Azerbaijan are in great need of American academics in priority disciplines to assist in curriculum development and to share their knowledge of current teaching methodologies. Applicants should hold the appropriate terminal degree and have at least 3 years of university teaching experience or the professional equivalent. The academic year consists of two semesters, which usually begin September 15 and February 9. Grantees are often placed at state universities such as Baku State University, the Academy of Public Administration, Azerbaijan University of Languages or the State Economics University. Conversational Azeri or Russian is recommended, but not required.

Benefits
Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $700-$1,250 per month, based on the number of accompanying dependents and the city of placement. Housing for families may be in short supply.
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $4,000-$10,000, based on the number of accompanying dependents.
Tuition Assistance: Tuition Assistance.
Other Benefits:  A book allowance of $1,500 for the period of the grant.
