Program Overview:  Applicants with a Ph.D. are preferred, but applicants with an M.A. or other professional degree and at least 5 years of substantial experience in their fields will be considered. Administrative experience is highly desirable. The academic year is October through June. An international English language school (K-9) is located in Tirana. Computer facilities and hardware are limited, but e-mail access is available at Internet cafes, which are available in large urban areas. It is anticipated that lecturing will be done in English but interpreters will be available if necessary. Applications are welcomed in all fields but preference is given to those related to the development of free enterprise, human resource development and organizational management. Living conditions and infrastructure in Albania are improving, particularly in cities; however, the country is still undergoing significant change. Access to resources and people is generally good, though it can often take repeated efforts to arrange meetings, affiliations, etc. Public affairs office staff at the U.S. embassy in Tirana will assist with housing as requested. Monthly housing costs vary between $550 and $750 depending on location and size. For further information contact Mirela Cupi, educational and cultural assistant, cupim@state.gov or Leigh A.
