Awards and Benefits
Summary:  Up to six lecturing awards and up to three research awards.
Program Overview:  Lecturing awards are for one semester or the academic year. Research grants are for 3-10 months. The first semester of the academic year starts in September and ends in January. The second semester begins in mid-January and ends in June. Lecturing grantees will do some undergraduate teaching, but most of their time will be spent consulting and advising their host institutions on curriculum and program development and providing staff training. All teaching is in English. Unless otherwise indicated in the award descriptions, applicants must have a minimum of 5 years of university teaching experience. During the grant period, grantees may be invited to lecture in other parts of Vietnam or in other countries in the East Asia and Pacific region. Schooling opportunities for dependent children are limited.

Benefits
Stipend: $1,870-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula..
Maintenance: Maintenance as described on pages XYZ. In 2007-2008 $2,025-$2,400 per month, based on host city and the number of accompanying dependents.
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $4,150 for the grantee and up to $4,600 for dependents.
Tuition Assistance: Reimbursement of tuition and some schooling fees for grades 1-12 up to $5,000 per child per semester to a maximum of $20,000 per family for a 10 month grant.
Other Benefits:  Book allowance of $1,000 per semester. Up to $500 for language study upon presentation of receipts. Research allowance of $500 for research grantees.
