Summary:
Up to five awards for research or lecturing/research in all disciplines.

Program Overview:
Academics and professionals with established reputations in their respective fields and who hold a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree are encouraged to apply. Academic terms run from approximately late February to mid-June and late July to late October. The Australian-American Fulbright Commission in Canberra deems those applicants with dual United States-Australian citizenship ineligible for an award.

Stipend: n.a.
|
|
Maintenance: In Australian dollars (A$) per month: A$3,325 for a single grantee; A$3,580 for a grantee with one or more dependents. (The exchange rate as of November 2007 was US$1=A$1.111.)
|
|
Travel/Relocation: Travel allowance of US$2,800 for grantee and travel allowance for one dependent of US$2,550 if the dependent accompanies the grantee for more than 80% of grant period; A$1,000 all-inclusive establishment allowance; and A$140 excess baggage allowance.

Tuition Assistance: Dependents of grantees who will be enrolled in the Australian public school system from K-12 grades will have tuition fees waived.
|
|
Other Benefits:
Medicare provides healthcare for grantees but not their dependents. Independent health care coverage must be obtained for dependents accompanying grantees to Australia.
