Awards and Benefits
Summary:  Two or more lecturing/research awards. For research awards, see the African Regional Research Program.
Program Overview:  Candidates with a Ph.D. and at least 5 years of postdoctoral university or college teaching experience are preferred to assist in faculty and curriculum development. The academic terms are August to December and January to May at the participating host universities. Applicants should have well-developed research proposals to which they can devote themselves in the event university classes are suspended. The Harare International School (K-12) offers educational programs for accompanying dependent school-age children.

Benefits
Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $900-$1,200 per month, based on the number of dependents, plus a housing allowance or a one-time allowance of $1,000 for refurbishing and repair of university provided housing.
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $6,400 for the grantee; additional dependent travel allowance of $3,600 for one accompanying dependent, $7,200 for two or more dependents.
