Program Overview:
Candidates with a Ph.D. and at least 2 or more years of university teaching experience are preferred. Professionals with these qualifications will be considered. The university academic year begins in August or September. The International School of Tanganyika (K-12) offers educational programs for accompanying school-age children, and there are good local schools that offer slightly different syllabi. Information about these schools can be obtained from the education section of www.tanedu.org.

Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
|
|
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $1,200-$1,500, based on the number of dependents, plus housing and a supplemental housing allowance of $500 per month for utilities, refurbishing and repair of university housing.
|
|
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $6,500 for the grantee; additional dependent travel allowance of $4,000 for one accompanying dependent, $8,000 for two or more dependents.
