Awards and Benefits
Summary:  Two or more lecturing or lecturing/research awards. For research awards, see the African Regional Research Program.
Program Overview:  Candidates with a Ph.D. and at least 3 years of postdoctoral university or college teaching experience are preferred. Professionals with these qualifications will be considered. Candidates are encouraged to correspond with potential host departments to determine whether their disciplines or specializations are of interest. A letter of invitation from the host institution, submitted as part of the application, is recommended but not required. The academic calendar year is from November through the end of July. The International School of Dakar (K-12) and the Dakar Academy (K-12), offer English language educational programs for accompanying school-age children. Please contact CIES as needed for additional schooling information for accompanying children.

Benefits
Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $1,100-$1,400 per month, based on the number of dependents, plus housing and a supplemental housing allowance of $300 per month for utilities, refurbishing and repair of university housing.
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $5,500 for the grantee; additional dependent travel allowance of $3,500 for one accompanying dependent, $7,000 for two or more dependents.
