Awards and Benefits
Summary:  Two or more lecturing/research awards. For research awards, see the African Regional Research Program.
Program Overview:  Candidates with a Ph.D. and at least 2 years of postdoctoral university or college teaching experience are preferred. A letter of invitation from the host institution, submitted as part of the application, is recommended but not required. The academic calendar at the University of Namibia is a semester system from mid-January to early June and mid-July to mid-December. At the Polytechnic of Namibia, the academic calendar is a semester system from early February to early July and mid-July through November. The International University of Management, a newly established institution, follows a semester system from mid-January to June and mid-July to mid-December. The Windhoek International School offers educational programs (K-12) for accompanying school-age children.

Benefits
Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $1,025-$1,325 per month, based on the number of dependents, plus housing and a supplemental housing allowance of $130 per month for the alarm and a monthly installment fee.
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $6,300 for the grantee; additional dependent travel allowance of $3,500 for one accompanying dependent, $7,000 for two or more dependents.
