Awards and Benefits
Summary:  One or more lecturing or lecturing/research awards. For research awards, see the African Regional Research Program.
Program Overview:  Candidates with a Ph.D. and 5 years of postdoctoral university or college teaching experience are preferred. The academic calendar consists of two semesters: February to June and August to December. An English language school, the American International School of Mozambique (K-12) in Maputo, offers educational programs for accompanying dependent school-age children. The British-oriented Maputo International School and the Christian Academy in Maputo offer secondary schooling in English.

Benefits
Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $1,000-$1,300 per month, based on the number of dependents, plus housing and a supplemental housing allowance of $350 per month for utilities, refurbishing and repair of university housing.
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $6,800 for the grantee; additional dependent travel allowance of $4,000 for one accompanying dependent, $8,000 for two or more dependents.
