Program Overview:
Candidates with a Ph.D. and 5 years or more of postdoctoral university or college teaching experience are preferred. A letter of invitation from the host institution, submitted as part of the application, is recommended but not required. The academic calendar differs from university to university and is subject to adjustment; thus timing of the grant is subject to change. Any alternate placements and starting dates will be negotiated with candidates selected for awards. Several private schools are available for accompanying dependent school-age children.

Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
|
|
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $1,000-$1,300 per month, based on the number of dependents, plus housing and a supplemental housing allowance of $300 per month for utilities, refurbishing and repair of university housing.
|
|
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $5,750 for the grantee; additional dependent travel allowance of $3,250 for one accompanying dependent, $6,500 for two or more dependents. The host institution may provide partial travel for the grantee. Fulbright direct support will be reduced accordingly.
