Awards and Benefits
Summary:  One lecturing or lecturing/research award. For research awards, see the African Regional Research Program.
Program Overview:  Candidates with a Ph.D., at least 3 years of postdoctoral university or college teaching experience and curriculum development experience are preferred. At the University of Kankan, University of Conakry and Higher Institute of Fine Arts, the academic year begins in October or November and is divided into three terms: October or November to December, January to March and April to June. At the Higher Agricultural and Veterinary Institute Valery Giscard d'Estaing of Faranah, the academic year begins in April and is divided into three terms: April to June, July to September and October to December.

Benefits
Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $1,200-$1,500 per month, based on the number of dependents, plus housing or housing allowance and a one-time settling-in allowance of $600-$800.
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $6,350 for the grantee; additional dependent travel allowance of $4,350 for one accompanying dependent, $8,700 for two or more dependents.
