Awards and Benefits
Summary:  Two or more lecturing/research awards. For research awards, see the African Regional Research Program.
Program Overview:  Candidates with a Ph.D. and at least 5 years of postdoctoral college or university teaching experience are preferred. Since 2002, the Ethiopian government has rapidly expanded tertiary education. Applications are encouraged to the host institutions located outside the capital city with awards to help Ethiopia to realize its aims of improved and expanded higher education. Academic term runs from September to July. An English language school, International School of Addis Ababa (K-12), is available for accompanying dependent K-12 school-age children.

Benefits
Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $1,300-$2,000 per month, plus housing or housing allowance and a one-time allowance of $2,100 for settling-in allowance.
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $7,250 for the grantee; additional dependent travel allowance of $4,750 for one accompanying dependent, $9,500 for two or more dependents.
