Awards and Benefits
Summary:  One lecturing or lecturing/research award. For research awards, see the African Regional Research Program.
Program Overview:  Candidates with a Ph.D. and minimum rank of assistant professor are preferred. Candidates are encouraged to correspond directly with the host institution to confirm whether their specializations are of interest. A letter of invitation from the host institution, submitted as part of the application, is recommended but not required. The academic year in Burkina Faso consists of two semesters: mid-September to the end of February and April through June. An English language school, the International School of Ouagadougou (K-12), is available for accompanying dependent K-12 school-age children.

Benefits
Stipend: $2,640-$2,860 monthly base stipend, according to the standard base stipend formula.
Maintenance: Standard maintenance. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $1,000-$1,300 per month, based on the number of dependents, plus housing and a supplemental housing allowance of $500 per month for utilities, refurbishing and repair of university housing.
Travel/Relocation: Standard travel/relocation. For 2007-2008 the following was provided: $6,150 for the grantee; additional dependent travel allowance of $4,150 for one accompanying dependent, $8,300 for two or more dependents.
