Grant Activity: For lecturing awards, a grantee will teach undergraduate courses and possibly graduate courses. For lecturing/research awards, a grantee will teach undergraduate courses (60 percent) and conduct research (40 percent) either independently or with host institution graduating students and faculty. There will be opportunities for several guest lectures at other universities, including the regional ones.

Language: English is sufficient for lecturing. For research, Russian or Turkmen language skills may be required.

|
Additional Qualifications: Ph.D.s as well as M.A.s with minimum 3 years of college-level teaching experience are sought.
|
|
Location: The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy, in cooperation with Turkmenistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Education, will arrange host institution affiliation.

|
Length of Grant: 5 months to 10 months
|
|
Starting Date: September 1, 2009 or February 9, 2010
