Comments: The intent of this award is to enhance collaboration among a community of scholars working on issues of relevance to the special trilateral relationship among the U.S., Mexico and Canada, created by shared borders and accelerated by the NAFTA agreement. Projects across a broad range of disciplines as well as those with an interdisciplinary focus are welcomed; proposals should reflect topics which would benefit from a trilateral perspective and clearly demonstrate a need to spend time in both Mexico and Canada. Grants are from 4 months to an academic year and time should be distributed fairly equally between the two countries. Longer-term grants are preferred. Affiliations may be made with universities, NGOs, research centers, government agencies or any combination thereof. Candidates are encouraged to obtain letters of invitation but commissions can assist with affiliations as necessary; for assistance contact Tim Wright at the U.S.-Mexico Commission for Educational and Cultural Exchange (COMEXUS) at twright@comexus.org.mx or Brad Hector at the Foundation for Educational Exchange Between Canada and the U.S. at bhector@fulbright.ca.
