Middle East and North Africa Regional Research Program

Specialization(s): Possible fields for research include, but are not limited to architecture, area studies, biological sciences, communications, education, environmental sciences, humanities, law, medical sciences, physical sciences and social sciences.
Language: Appropriate language proficiency is required for successfully carrying out the research project.
Additional Qualifications: Professionals who have a demonstrated record of research will be considered.
Location: Applicants are encouraged to arrange affiliation and include letter of invitation.
Length of Grant: 3 months to 9 months
Starting Date: Grants must be undertaken in a single period of residence abroad between June 1, 2009 and September 30, 2010.
Comments: Proposals must provide a detailed itinerary of travel to each country, including proposed host institutions and, if possible, letters confirming affiliation. Applicants are encouraged to arrange affiliation and include letter of invitation. If an affiliation is not confirmed by the time of selection, the applicant will be responsible for obtaining an affiliation as a condition of receiving an award. For projects in North Africa, a one or two page Arabic or French summary of the research project is required with the application.
