Grant Activity: The applicant should create a project that may include studies, practical experience in actual operations, visits to organizations in the applicant's field or other appropriate professional experiences. Possible affiliations include government organizations, universities, nonprofits and private businesses, among others. Applicants should find host institutions through the Internet and networking.

Specialization(s): The grant is meant for professionals in all disciplines. However, proposals for medical research involving clinical training, patient care or patient contact are not eligible.

Language: English is sufficient.
|
|
Additional Qualifications: For mid-career professionals with a minimum of 5 years of experience. Emphasis is on professional qualifications and expertise. A university degree is not required.
|
|
Location: Applicants must arrange affiliation and include a letter of invitation. The invitation should conform to the scholar's project, dates of visit, and state facilities offered.
|
|
Length of Grant: 4 months to 5 months
|
|
Starting Date: Between August 2009 and May 2010
|
|
Comments: The aim of the grant is to allow professionals in various fields to take a sabbatical leave of 4 to 5 months from normal work duties to pursue further education or training that would enhance their professional development. Applicants should have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience and should be at a point in their careers when maximum benefit will ensue from this period of professional enrichment.
