Grant Activity: The scholar will work with undergraduate and graduate students as well as with faculty and administration; provide training for professional journalists and work with local media agencies to develop reporting and investigative skills. Students usually cannot purchase books, so teaching methodologies must be creative in their approach.

Language: Conversational Azeri or Russian recommended but not required.

Location: Affiliation to be determined.

Length of Grant: 4 months to 10 months

Starting Date: September 2009 or February 2010

Comments: Letters of invitation are recommended. However, the Embassy staff will arrange host institution affiliation for those applicants whose awards are not located at a specific institution. The Embassy staff will also assist grantees in finding apartments.
