Grant Activity: This grant engages three departments of the School of Letters: English, Comparative Studies and Literary Theory. The grantee will teach students of either or all three departments. Applications from any sub-field of the humanities are welcome. Grantee will teach both undergraduate and graduate students. The contents and texts of the courses and other duties will be decided between the school and the grantee in early correspondence between both. The average size of classes will be 15-30 students. Students purchase books.

Language: English is sufficient.

Additional Qualifications: Ph.D.; minimum 5 years of teaching experience, any rank. Professionals and non-academics will not be considered.

Comments: Housing is not provided, but the host institution will assist the grantee in finding housing. Assistance will be given by Mrs. Clementina Carvalho, phone +351.210113482, e-mail sri@reitoria.ul.pt . Approximate monthly cost of housing is 800-1000 euro. The host institution is located in the center of Lisbon, close to the Portuguese National Archives and the National Library. The host institution will provide computer facilities (PC, laptop and printers), Internet access (wireless) and e-mail, office space and secretarial assistance.
