Special Feature: Full-Maintenance Grant

Grant Activity: Engage in advanced research that results in a significant original contribution to understanding Macao's history and development, Macao's relations with mainland China or Macao's role in East-West relations. Share professional expertise (no more than 30 hours) in a series of lectures or seminars or a workshop. Grant recipients are expected to prepare and submit an original paper of 8,000-12,000 words within three months of the end of the grant.
Language: A level of fluency in Mandarin and/or Portuguese appropriate to the project. No support is provided for interpreters or translation.
Additional Qualifications: Ph.D. and at least 3 years of academic or professional experience after completion of the degree.
Location: Historical Archives of Macao
Length of Grant: 4 months to 6 months
Starting Date: Between September 2009 and March 2010
Comments: Preference will be given to applicants with a record of prior research on Macao. Grant benefits for the research award will be paid in local currency. The monthly stipend will range from MOP$16,000 (approximately US$2,000) per month to MOP$24,000 (approximately US$3,000) depending upon years of relevant academic or professional experience. Housing allowance of MOP$4,500 (approximately US$560) per month.
