Grant Activity: Conduct collaborative research with occasional lecturing at the graduate level in collaboration with one of several thematic projects supported by the Foundation for the Support of Research in Sao Paulo (FAPESP) in various science and social science fields and developed at institutions in the state of Sao Paulo.
Language: Working knowledge of Portuguese or Spanish is desired. English may be acceptable in some fields if indicated by host.
Additional Qualifications: Senior scholars (5 years postdoctoral) are preferred but junior scholars with strong records will be considered as well.
Location: Applicants must arrange affiliation and include a letter of invitation from an institution in the state of Sao Paulo.
Length of Grant: 2 months to 4 months
Starting Date: August 2009 or March 2010
Comments: Awards are co-sponsored with FAPESP. Grantees work with Brazilian hosts who are receiving research funding from FAPESP in one of several thematic areas; for a list of projects see www.fapesp.br/english and search under the programs and thematic projects links. Brazilian hosts must apply through FAPESP to receive a U.S. scholar.
