Environment, Health and Sustainability: University of Lethbridge Research Chair in Water and the Environment

Grant Activity: Conduct research, develop collaborations and offer occasional guest lectures at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Specialization(s): Water quality and safety, water resources management, consumption patterns, water economics, water and society, water-related health issues, the relation of water resources and climate change, development and implementation of beneficial management practices
Additional Qualifications: Junior scholars with promising research records as well as established senior scholars are encouraged to apply.
Location: Alberta Ingenuity Institute for Water Research (AIIWR), University of Lethbridge
Length of Grant: 4 months or 9 months
Starting Date: September 2009 for academic-year grants; September 2009 or January 2010 for one-semester grants
Comments: The AIIWR is a new and progressive partnership among Alberta's three research universities. Well-established research scientists and engineers form the Institute's foundation and recruit talented water researchers, promote research opportunities for junior colleagues and help to train the next generation of water researchers. The proposed research projects are designed to fill knowledge gaps pertinent to Alberta. The AIIWR will be of international caliber, producing high impact journal papers and developing applications specific to Alberta and relevant worldwide.
