Grant Activity: Teach courses in entrepreneurship to undergraduate and graduate students at the Libera Universita Internazionale degli Studi Sociali "Guido Carli" (LUISS) and the University of Calabria (campus of Arcavacata near Cosenza in southern Italy). Teach 30 hours at each institution, for a total of 60. Assist LUISS and the University of Calabria in identifying and developing research areas related to entrepreneurship. Grantee will have the possibility of conducting research related to entrepreneurship and the financing of innovation, involving topics as venture capital and the financing of start-ups, business models for new firms, academic technology transfer, growth and innovation patterns of SMEs.
Specialization(s): Process of opportunity recognition, management of technological innovation in new technology-based firms, protection and valuation of intellectual property, valuation and financing of start-ups, development of seed and venture capital operations, design and implementation of effective business models for academic entrepreneurship and technology transfer.

Comments: LUISS intends to create a Center for Entrepreneurial Studies offering courses for undergraduate and graduate programs, research activities and realizing ad hoc activities supporting entrepreneurial initiatives. The University of Calabria is developing a Center for Technology and Knowledge Transfer and the Arcavacata campus hosts the Industrial Liaison Office already operating in the field of technology transfer by means of educational and consulting projects focused on intellectual property management, patent issuance, etc. The Fulbright-LUISS-University of Calabria (Fulbright 60th Anniversary) Scholarship will amount to 26,500 euro. Both LUISS and the University of Calabria will provide accommodations, office space and computer facilities, as well as coverage of at least two Rome-Cosenza round-trips. There are international schools for dependents near the LUISS campus (although tuition costs will not be covered by the grant).
