Grant Activity: Teach two courses of the Ph.D. program in computer engineering, each course with 3 lecturing hours per week. Courses to be taught will be two of the following, depending on the grantee's area of expertise: Methods for Scientific Research, Constraint Programming for Combinatory Optimization, Software Engineering Research Topics, Interaction and Visual Simulation Environments or Information Systems Integration. In addition, there will be 6 meeting hours per week. The average size of the class will be 15-20 students. Students do not usually have to purchase books; they use the school's library.

Specialization(s): At least one of the following: computer architectures, operating system and networks, sciences and technologies of programming, software engineering, interaction and multimedia, information systems, or intelligent systems.

Language: English is sufficient.
|
|
Additional Qualifications: Ph.D.; either associate of full professor. Professionals and non-academics will not be considered.

Comments: Housing is not provided, but the host institution will assist the grantee in finding housing. Assistance will be given by Dr. Augusto de Sousa, phone +351.225081827, e-mail augusto.sousa@fe.up.pt. Approximate monthly cost of housing is between 300 and 600 euro. The host institution will provide computer facilities (Windows and UNIX/Linux computers and servers-high performance computing infrastructure), Internet access (wireless) and e-mail, as well as office space and secretarial assistance. The fall semester starts on September 15 and ends on December 19.
