Grant Activity: Participation in departmental activities, such as tutorials, student advising, faculty training and curriculum development is expected. Teach one or two introductory and/or intermediate courses (approximately 20 students each) at the undergraduate level. Teaching load of approximately 20 hours per week. Please note that dates for semesters vary and grantees should confirm them directly with MCAST prior to booking travel. Candidates should bear in mind that MCAST is a vocational education institution and as such a great deal of emphasis in the tuition process is dedicated towards building up practical skills and practical experiences in the latest modern IT technologies that are currently in demand by the IT industry. Students are predominantly taught in a practical (lab) environment, each provided with an individual PC, to master the tools of the trade that would make them highly employable. Therefore, the candidates are expected to be familiar with and have a solid practical experience in the latest products and technologies in the areas in which they choose to contribute. Alternatively, if deemed beneficial to the college, the candidates' contribution may be partly or as a whole in the area of staff development and training, whereby the candidate will be organizing activities to transfer skills and knowledge to the existing academic staff at the college.

Language: Lecturing is in English.
Additional Qualifications: Ph.D. with at least 3 years of teaching experience in a relevant area. Holders of additional professional and/or industry certifications (e.g. MCAD, MCSE, CCNA, CCSP, Oracle, etc.) or specialists in IT security are highly preferred.
Length of Grant: 5 months or 10 months
Starting Date: September 2009 or February 2010
Comments: The preferred field for this lectureship is computer science, however, other fields will also be considered. Furnished accommodations can be arranged. MCAST offers a housing allowance of approximately 700-1160 euro.
