Pau, located on the border with Spain and facing the Pyrenees, also boasts a high student population thanks to the University of Pau and of the Pays de l'Ardour. The region of Aquitaine hosts over 10,300 people involved in research and development, including 6,350 in the private sector and more than 150 research laboratories. For more information about the research environment in Aquitaine visit www.poleuniv.u-bordeaux.fr. If you have not already established ties with a host institution in the region and are planning to solicit the required letter of invitation, please contact Amy Tondu, head of the American section, at atondu@fulbright-france.org. She will supply you with an electronic letter from the Franco-American Commission explaining to potential hosts what the program is, how it is funded, and what the requirements for hosting institutions would be.
