American Literature and Culture

Grant Activity: Teach courses and seminars for doctoral students and fifth-year students specializing in American literature. Lecturing will require 50 hours at the master's level (class size: 10-20 students) and 10-20 hours at the Ph.D. level (class size: approximately 12 students). Lecturer will also teach one course for graduate and undergraduate students at a branch of the University of Catania located in the city of Ragusa approximately 1 hour away.
Language: Lecturing is in English. Conversational Italian is required.
Additional Qualifications: Full professor with extensive experience in teaching and research activities preferred.
Location: University of Catania
Length of Grant: 4 months
Starting Date: mid-January/February 2010
Comments: Computer facilities, Internet, e-mail, and office space will be available. Housing (at approximately 750 euro per month) is not provided, but the University of Catania will provide a contribution of approximately 2,000 euro to offset housing costs, as well as assistance in finding accommodations.
