Grant Activity: Applications will be considered in any discipline. Conduct research in grantee's area of specialization, teach, conduct seminars and workshops in undergraduate or graduate programs, or combine teaching and research. All grantees may be asked to deliver occasional public lectures.
Language: Fluent Spanish is required; applicants must submit a language proficiency report. Exceptions on fluency may be made under special circumstances and justification.
Additional Qualifications: At least 3 years of teaching experience is required for projects with a teaching component.
Location: Applicants are encouraged to arrange affiliation and include letter of invitation; however, the Commission can assist with affiliation as needed.
Length of Grant: 3 months to 4 months
Starting Date: May 2009 or later
Comments: Length of grant is 3-4 months; in some cases, requested grant lengths may need to be adjusted at the discretion of the Commission. The Commission will consider serial grants which will allow the grant to be divided into shorter in-country stays over 2 consecutive years. In the case of a serial grant, the total number of months cannot exceed four. A maximum of two round-trip airfares for grantee only will be provided for serial grantees.
