Grant Activity: Applicants may propose lecturing projects, research projects or a combination of both in a wide range of subject areas relevant to Canada or Canada-U.S. relations.
|
|
Specialization(s): While the competition is officially open to all disciplines, applications in the following areas are given preference: Canada-U.S. relations, comparative public policy, international trade, security, business administration and management, North American integration, communications, culture, ecology and the environment, indigenous issues, law, border issues, Canadian studies and American studies.

Location: Applicants must arrange affiliation and include letter of invitation.
|
|
Length of Grant: 4 months or 9 months
|
|
Starting Date: September 2009 for academic-year grants; September 2009 or January 2010 for one-semester grants
|
|
Comments: One semester grants are preferred. Recent Ph.D.s, experienced professionals and both junior and tenured university faculty members are encouraged to apply. Individuals who will have received their Ph.D. by December 2008 are eligible to apply. Candidates currently residing or working in Canada are not eligible to apply. French language ability commensurate with the requirements of the project and/or the host institution is required at any of the country's Francophone institutions. Awards are not available for the summer months only. Applicants may also be referred for consideration for Research Chair awards as appropriate.
