Comments: The Fulbright Foundation in India will arrange host institution affiliation for applicants for those awards not located at a specified institution. Final confirmation of institutional affiliation will be made by the Fulbright Foundation in India following selection for an award. Scholars, especially lecturer applicants, who are willing to be affiliated at an institution outside metropolitan areas are encouraged to indicate this in the application. Indian institutions, with the exception of some of the highly reputed technical and management schools, have loosely structured lecturing schedules that require adaptability and initiative on the part of American lecturers. Apart from these schools and some of the better-known university departments, undergraduate colleges make optimum use of visiting lecturers and they will be used widely for lecturer placements.
