Grant Activity: Lecture and/or conduct research in area of interest.
Language: English is sufficient for lecturing. Proficiency in host language may be an advantage but is not required.
Additional Qualifications: Ph.D. preferred.
Location: Applicants are encouraged to arrange host affiliation. A letter of invitation is recommended.
Length of Grant: 3 months to 6 months
Starting Date: Between mid-August 2009 and May 2010
Comments: Projects in circumpolar studies, energy and climate are especially welcome. The Research Council of Norway has identified a number of Norwegian Centers of Excellence and Centers in research-based innovation in fields such as mathematics, geohazards, petroleum research, medieval studies, maritime studies, civil war studies and more. Projects should not be planned for the summer months unless there are very specific reasons for doing so (e.g., life cycle of animals being studied).
